Declaration about the imprisonment of Jawad Alizadeh

Join Declaration by “Democratic Union of Kurdish Students” and “Organization for Defence of Human Rights in Kurdistan” about the imprisonment of Jawad Alizadeh.
Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and fear (Universal Declaration of Human Rights, article 19). It is so unfortunate that, sixty years after the first publication of this international document, we still frequently have to stress its importance, and reminding the universality of human rights to a regime whom has been a co-signer of this document.  Indeed, the frequent reference to this document (U.D.H.R.), to a regime whom has no respect for the most basic and natural rights of its citizens, each time has cost in heavy  price upon the pro-democracy and civil society activists inside country. There is no doubt, the imprisonment of Jawad Alizadeh will mark the high-light of our pro-democracy and human rights struggle in one of the most dark period of this country.

In fact, the imprisonment of Jawad Alizadeh portrait the most inhuman and injustice image and it should be condemned by all of us.

The frequent human rights abuses and jailing of the social and political activists, has showed that this regime has aimed to suppress and crackdown all of them.  However, it has been proven that dictatorship and imposing force will result in strength and soldierity among pro-democracy and civic society activists. This regime should learn its lesson from past history, before it be too late.

We condemned the imprisonment of jawad Alizadeh , while he was attending the anniversary of Ibrahim Lotfallahay at the cemetery and he was in the most inhuman way beaten by police at public place. At the end, we are asking for his immediate and non-conditional release.
